Pep Guardiola insists Raheem Sterling Hasn’t yet Attained the level of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Sterling has started the new season in sensational form, scoring eight goals in seven games for Manchester City and England.
England director Gareth Southgate considers the 24-year-old has the capacity to overtake Ronaldo and Messi and be the best footballer on the planet.
However, Guardiola has urged Sterling to dismiss those comparisons.
«Hopefully he cannot read too much and listen to such sort of things, it would be useful for him,» said Guardiola, ahead of Saturday’s trip to Norwich — live on Sky Sports.
«Nobody can compare Cristiano [Ronaldo] and [Lionel] Messi.»
Sterling scored one and set up two more as England beat on Kosovo on Saturday.
The former Liverpool winger has now managed six goals in as many games for England and Guardiola is now very happy to see his player shine.
«I am so pleased with what he has been doing because we have been together,» said Guardiola.
«Everything that’s happened to him is good because he has an incredible work ethic and he’s an incredibly nice man.
«Every time that I know the situation is moving well, not just with us, but with the national group, his state, I am thrilled.»
