The news broke Friday, then confirmed on Monday that former UFC title challenger Val??rie L??tourneau has signed with Bellator MMA. L??tourneau (8-6) heads into her promotional debut off three straight losses, suffering setbacks to Joanna J??drzejczyk, Joanne Calderwood and many lately Viviane Pereira last December in UFC 206. This season following her recent slide, the American Top Team product was released from the UFC.
The has had trouble before making the strawweight limitation in the UFC and will fit in nicely into the 125-pound flyweight division of Bellator. She strove for Season 18 of The Ultimate Fighter but was removed after dropping to Roxanne Modafferi by entry.
Where she took home a split-decision success over Elizabeth Phillips in June 2014 l??tourneau was given a second chance on note at UFC 174. She followed that up with wins over Jessica Rakoczy and Maryna Moroz that earned her a title shot against J??drzejczyk at UFC 193. Breese (10-1) was pulled at the last minute from a scheduled bout with Oluwale Bamgbose in UFC Fight Night 107 back in March because of an irregularity with his heart rate. The 25-year-old endured his career’s initial blow off enduring a split-decision loss.
