French Soccer Federation president Noel Le Graet says he does not need referees to disrupt matches if there are chants, despite new rules introduced by the FFF this season that allow fractures.
1 games in Metz and Nice were halted in a week of each other last month later discriminatory banner ads were seen from the audience.
Believes interrupting drama is marginal although A Ligue 2 match between Nancy and Le Mans was also ceased before in August.
«I would not stop the matches — totally from that,» Le Graet told French radio station France Info on Tuesday.
The soccer league setup an action plan to tackle homophobia in its stadium together with Ligue 1 president, in May.
Asked if referees would accompany his request in this weekend’s matches, Le Graet said:»I hope so.
«We will make certain there aren’t any more (homophobic banners and chants). But stopping a match? — No.»
The president does not have the ability to teach referees to proceed against the new rules.
Addressing the fans responsible of the sinking, Le Graet added:»Don’t return to the stadium together with banners, it’s as simple as that.
«You can support your team, but [homophobia is] completely wrong morally.»
The rules were publicly supported by French sports ministry Roxana Maracineanu, that last week said she had been»astonished» by preceding comments from Le Graet that»too many matches» was stopped due to incidents of homophobia.
